DANNY F II

The Master of the Danny F II went down with his ship. His elderly, grieving parents passed away without a detailed understanding of what went wrong on board the vessel that day because they died before the flag state’s investigation was finalized over three and a half years later. Lost at sea The vessel capsized in adverse weather about 15 miles off the coast of Lebanon. When rescue operations ceased some 72 hours later, 40 men had been rescued, 11 had been found dead and 32 remained missing.The vessel had sailed from the Port of Montevideo, Uruguay, and was destined to discharge livestock at the Port of Tartous, Syria.
